In this study, a sectional model of the exhaust manifold has been investigated in order to evaluate the effectiveness of insulating the pipe using a variety of insulating materials in order to minimize the amount of heat that is lost. There were four distinct insulating materials that were used in order to enhance the thermal resistance of the exhaust manifold. This was done in order to reduce the amount of heat that was lost inside the manifold. Modeling and discretization were performed on the model that included the insulating materials. Both the thermal and structural attributes have been allocated to the discretized model, and the model has been processed for research purposes. The analytical model takes into account the heat flux that is produced by the exhaust gas as an input. When calculating output, both heat loss and temperature differential were considered. Based on the most recent data, it is possible to assert that the use of these four materials will result in a reduction in the amount of heat that is lost via the exhaust manifold.
