The quality of education significantly influences students' overall growth and future achievement. Nevertheless, it is challenging to guarantee that secondary schools offer high-quality education, and it calls for the combined efforts of the government, educators, and school management. This paper examined the obstacles that teachers and school management must overcome. The study used a descriptive study method by mixing quantitative and qualitative data. For quantitative data, the researchers collected data from secondary school teachers in the Mbeya Urban district by using questionnaires, whereby simple random sampling was used to select the 314 respondents. Qualitative data were collected from Headmasters, Ward Education officers by using a purposive sampling technique with an interview schedule technique whereby 36 headmasters and 4 ward educational officers were selected for interview and analyzed by thematic analysis. According to the study's findings, school administrators and instructors in Mbeya Urban district continue to face several difficulties despite government initiatives to raise educational standards: There is a lack of professional teachers, especially in science subjects, of resources like books, science apparatus to conduct experiments, of textbooks in classrooms, and of Overcrowded classrooms. Educators, stakeholders, and the government can devise effective strategies and policies to enhance students' educational outcomes by understanding these challenges.
