Anxiety is one of the most common mental disorders among school-going children and adolescents worldwide. Multiple factors like internalization of the symptoms, lack of proper objective assessment, societal stigmatization, and influence of parental pressure may alter the prevalence and incidence. The current study is done to identify the prevalence of anxiety disorders in school children and their associated risk factors. A sample of 600 secondary school students from various schools of Tripura were selected. Standardized tool developed by Sharma &Shakir (2019) used for measuring the level of academic anxiety of senior secondary school students. This study adopts a quantitative research design, using statistical methods to analyze the levels of academic anxiety among 10th grade students in Tripura. The data is collected through a survey that captures the students' academic anxiety levels based on their Z-scores. There are several clusters of students consistently reporting high anxiety levels (with Z-scores between -1.5 to -2.5) across multiple instances. This design is chosen because it allows for precise, measurable outcomes that are easy to analyze, providing clarity on how anxiety affects academic performance across different anxiety levels.
